So its Forge world live tomorrow and I have booked up the Imperial city board while we are their. 3 of us are going. 2 space marine players and an Ork. We are planning a quick 1000 pts game with winner staying on. This means I need to plan a force that can cope with either marine or ork. So my plan is simple. Stick to what I know. My Rhino rush force has been quite successful of late and the Command squad, with Librarian in a Razorback is building one hell of a rep.
Here is the planned force.
- Capt in term armour, Storm Shield and LC
- Librarian (epistolary)
- Command Squad, Comp Champ, Standard 2 meltas in Razorback
- Tactical 1 (10man) with Missile launcher and Plasma gun, Sgt has PW and Teleport homer in Rhino
- Tactical 2 (10man) With H/bolter and Melta. Sgt has Power fist in Rhino.
That’s the lot, not much for 100 pts, but a fast effective force. The Librarian has Smith (4 AP2 Shots is great for Mega Armoured nobs and terminatiors) and Might of the ancients, (good in Close combat vs. Orks and the warboss).
Should be flexiable enough for the task, But it does look a bit Fragile. With 3 melta, 2 Heavy bolters (1 is twin linked) I should have enough to deal with either options.
Not sure how to use the Captain yet, but he always turn up Just when needed and is great in defensive roles. Might split the force the 3 transports, 2 combat Squads and Command Squad with the Librarian attacking and using the speed to isolate and eliminate targets, And the 2 heavy weapons, supported by the captain to rain death.
