The Dyslexic Raw Gamer

Some it’s just after my 39th birthday and good Mrs Collett threaded me to some forgeworld love. i got kherens pattern assault cannon for the contemptor and a stunning demios predator executioner.

The predator has the Plasma destroyer and heavy conversion Beamer in the kit and both sponson options. The turret options are easy to magnetise, but the construction of the side posts makes it difficult. This give me limited options, but I have plumed for the heavy bolters, for 2 reasons, cost and that it gives it an anti infantry option to protect itself if needed. I plan to get a standard demios preadator in the future it will have the las cannon options to allow me to mix it up.

The painting for this has thrown up a dilemma. What colour should the turret be? I have 3 choices.

Blue to match the force, look codex and be an easy paint.

White to Give it the vetran look and as a special vehicle make it pop.

Red to give it the classic ultramarine preadator look, like the old paint scheme. This will jar somewhat with other parts of the force, but I think this the better option. I am open to views so please post a comment or tweet me your ideas.

I also have some hobby budget left so I feel the some new stormtalons will be dropping in soon. I know that the net is full of negativity for these angry little birds, but I like the kit, yes Evan the over sized assault cannons, and think they will be fun to paint. While the rules may not be to everyones cup of tea, they will look great and I do love the flyers on the table, they give the game more of an epic feel.

First pics of the new preadator should surface tomorrow for miniature Monday. I will post so ‘in progress’ shots a I go, the undercoat is nearly dry and it’s time to get painting.
